Fresno State Bowling | Weekend Recap – Diamond Bar, CA

The Bulldogs headed to Diamond Bar, CA this weekend for a doubleheader of competition before the Thanksgiving break.

Saturday – Oak Tree Open (College Pattern #3 – 42 ft)

After a slow start, the team rallied during the Baker block to close out the day strong, ultimately earning a 4th-place finish.

Senior Miguel Acosta led the way, averaging 209 while stepping confidently into the anchor role. Senior Neil Weinstein also delivered a solid performance, averaging 201. Miguel finished in 5th overall, while Neil finished 6th.

Congratulations to Grand Canyon University on taking the win!

Sunday – Floria Financial Tournament (College Pattern #4 – 39 ft)

The Bulldogs returned with renewed focus for a more grind-heavy pattern that produced far fewer strikes than Day 1. The team stayed consistent throughout the day and entered the final game just 60 pins shy of first place. There were 4 teams all within 60 pins of each other.

In true Bulldog fashion, they fought to the end—closing with a clutch 1036 in the deciding game. Despite the big finish, San Jose State matched the moment with a strong final game of their own to secure the win. Fresno State earned a well-deserved 2nd-place finish.

Special shoutouts to freshmen Lucas Krause (195 average) with a 4th place finish and Nicholas Dorn (199 average for 4 games) for stepping up in high-pressure situations.
