The Bulldogs competed in their final Tier 2 tournament of the season February 8-9th in San Jose, CA for both the Varsity and Junior Varsity teams. On Saturday, both teams bowled 5 team games on a 43’ ft (2.7:1) pattern. After an up and down day, the varsity finished 101 pins back of leader San Jose State. The JV finished 3rd place in their division.
The Bulldogs were lead by freshman, Zachary Oliver-Davis, who averaged 206 (4th individually) for the tournament. Other bulldogs finishing well were freshman, Dominic Ortiz, who had his best performance of the season (8th-201 avg), graduate student Spencer Norvell (9th-200 avg) and senior Jarrett Smith (13th-198 avg).
Day 2 was competed on a 37ft (2.78:1) pattern. The format was 10 baker games and then an elimination bracket for all competing teams. The varsity locked down the 2nd seed, unable to chase down San Jose State's varsity while the JV qualified 9th overall. The JV lost to Fullerton's JV team 3-1 in the first round of the bracket. The varsity earned a bye for the first round and challenged San Jose State's JV in the 2nd round. The varsity got hot and was able to sweep San Jose's JV team 3-0. Unfortunately, the varsity was unable to continue its high scoring from the previous round and was defeated by the Fullerton varsity 3-0. Fullerton would go on to defeat Cal Poly 3-2 in the final. Congrats to the Titans for taking the bracket win.
The West Coast season awards were presented this weekend and we're proud to say the Bulldogs were well represented.
Congratulations 2025 West Coast All Star Team.
