The Fresno State Bulldog Varsity and JV bowling teams concluded their fall season with a four-day trip to Las Vegas, competing in two prestigious Tier 1 tournaments: the Glenn Carlson Las Vegas Invitational and the Collegiate Shootout. Despite strong performances on the first day of competition, both teams faced challenges in the subsequent rounds.

At the Glenn Carlson Invitational, the Varsity team started strong, finishing Day 1 in 5th place, while the JV team held 4th. However, Day 2 proved difficult for both squads, as the Varsity team’s lane play and execution faltered, dropping them from 5th to 18th place—just 34 pins short of the elimination bracket. The JV team also slipped from 4th to 8th place while facing similar struggles. Graduate Spencer Norvell (212.5 average, 20th place) and Freshman Bryce Nakunz (207.8 average, 28th) led the Varsity squad, while transfer Eric Boscacci (198.5, 53rd) and Junior Kevin Hammons (189.5, 90th) led the JV team.

The Collegiate Shootout saw the teams compete on a 44 ft pattern, where the Varsity team again ended Day 1 in 5th place, but again failed to make the cut for the bracket. Despite this, the Bulldogs showed improvement finishing 12th overall, with Graduate Spencer Norvell (224.4 average, 13th place) and Freshman Zach Oliver-Davis (216.4 average, 31st) leading the charge. On the JV side, Eric Boscacci (192.6 average, 126th) and Junior Miguel Acosta (192.0 average, 134th) were key contributors.

A special highlight came from JV bowler Al Scott, who closed out his collegiate career with a stellar 275 game, marking his highest-ever collegiate score.

Although the Bulldogs did not qualify for bracket play in either tournament, the experience was a valuable learning opportunity and a strong foundation for the competitions to come in the spring semester.
